For Joshin Raghubar, Cape Town isn’t just home, it’s a launchpad for ideas with worldwide reach. As a highly respected entrepreneur and investor, he’s building ventures that bridge technology, creativity and impact to shape a future where business is both competitive and compassionate.
Joshin has spent his career developing ideas that bridge innovation and social good. As founder and Executive Chairperson of iKineo Ventures, he leads a portfolio of companies that merge technology, creativity and purpose. From his role at Adbot, a SaaS firm helping small businesses grow through smart automation to founding Explore Sideways, a wine tourism company that tells Cape Town’s stories in an engaging way, he makes an impact wherever he goes. He is also the chair of Totemiq (previously Inves Group), focused on digital assets and crypto ventures and served as the founding chairperson of Kena Health, which is redefining access to healthcare through digital innovation.
Beyond his business achievements, Joshin’s leadership extends into Africa’s innovation ecosystem. As Chairperson of UVU Africa Group and the pioneering Bandwidth Barn, he’s driving inclusive entrepreneurship across the continent. His global recognition as a Yale Greenberg World Fellow, Skoll World Forum Fellow and John P. McNulty Prize Laureate, reflects a career dedicated to building systems that empower others. He is also a Fellow of the Africa Leadership Initiative and the Aspen Institute’s Global Leaders Network, holding degrees from both the University of Cape Town and the University of the Western Cape.
With such a wealth of knowledge and experience, he is well poised to represent Cape Town on a world stage. He believes that promoting Cape Town as a global investment destination is both personal and professional, “It’s the city I live in and the place I want to see flourish. Cape Town allows you to shape your destiny, it’s a platform for global citizenship that still feels deeply local,” he says.
What excites him most about Cape Town’s future is its evolution toward a city defined by values as much as by vision. “We have the opportunity to become a beacon for the world to live out the diversity, inclusion and creativity that define the future we all want to see,” he says.
