The data-free <a href=\"https:\/\/www.investcapetown.com\/es\/press-releases-event\/jobs-connect-boosts-cape-towns-smmes\/\" title=\"Jobs Connect programme\">Jobs Connect programme<\/a> greatly reduces many of these obstacles by providing a free platform that directly links job seekers with employers. Since its launch, more than 100 000 people have registered, gaining access to employment and training opportunities. Now, the platform is expanding its impact by sourcing skilled artisans to fill critical roles within the City.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The City is actively recruiting professionals in key trades, including:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Carpentry<\/li>\n<li>Mechanical Engineering<\/li>\n<li>Construction<\/li>\n<li>Plumbing<\/li>\n<li>Auto-Electrical Work<\/li>\n<li>Welding<\/li>\n<li>Bricklaying<\/li>\n<li>Electrical Services<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Successful candidates will be responsible for performing maintenance, repairs, and installations in their area of expertise, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, conducting inspections, and contributing to infrastructure development projects.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The minimum requirements are as follows:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Recognised trade certification in your field;<\/li>\n<li>Relevant work experience in your trade;<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge of occupational health and safety regulations;<\/li>\n<li>Valid driver\u2019s licence (where required);<\/li>\n<li>Willingness to work in various conditions, including emergencies and standby shifts.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u2018The success of Jobs Connect speaks for itself. Since 2021, a total of 4 600 individuals secured entry-level work placements; 4 495 individuals benefitted from educational, learnership and apprenticeship placements; 3 200 voluntary and graduate placements were facilitated, and 300 individuals with disabilities were placed in meaningful work opportunities. We\u2019re excited to extend this programme to the benefit of artisans \u2013 both those who are presently working at the City and those who are eager to do so,\u2019 said Alderman Vos.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u2018The City congratulates the Jobs Connect programme for its impactful work. This is a fantastic opportunity for them to secure a stable and rewarding career in public service, while contributing to projects that benefit Cape Town communities.
