He also pointed to a key insight: for every 100 international air arrivals, 2 direct and indirect jobs are created.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Vos explained, \u201cAt the heart of this advocacy is a simple truth: greater air access translates into greater economic opportunity for our people.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>To realise this vision, Vos called on the national government to:<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Accelerate SAATM commitments by fast-tracking air access rights and bilateral agreements in Africa.<\/li>\n<li>Enhance competition regulations to promote fair and affordable air travel.<\/li>\n<li>Expand airport infrastructure to improve capacity and efficiency.<\/li>\n<li>Increase traffic rights by introducing phased rights for key markets to encourage competition.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Vos concluded by asserting Cape Town\u2019s potential as a leading aviation and investment hub, stating, \u201cI have been actively engaging with global airlines and stakeholders to attract more flights and investment.
