An exciting cultural district is the Langa Cultural Precinct, a vibrant cultural location, accessible and welcoming to residents and visitors alike. It starts at Washington Street made up of the Guga S’Thebe Arts and Culture Centre, the Old Pass Office Museum and Post Office, and Marikana Park.
The City of Cape Town’s Arts and Culture Department, with the help of different stakeholders and volunteers, revamped the area through various development projects. An important World Design Capital 2014 project added the famous 200-seat theatre built out of sustainable materials – Guga S’Thebe.
