Invest Cape Town Launches Landmark Ambassador Programme
Invest Cape Town has officially wrapped up its 2025 events calendar with a defining milestone – the launch of the Programa de Embaixadores Invest Cape Town, held on 27 November 2025 in the City of Cape Town Council Chamber. This moment marks a new chapter in how Cape Town positions itself on the global stage.
A Global Network of 15 Distinguished Ambassadors
The Ambassador Programme brings together 15 globally recognised leaders across technology, arts, tourism, events, and business process outsourcing. Each ambassador has lived or worked in Cape Town and continues to make an international impact, uniquely positioning them to champion the city’s economic strengths.

Modelled on the renowned Copenhagen Goodwill Ambassador Programme, this initiative empowers respected global professionals to advocate for Cape Town’s business environment, investment opportunities, and competitive advantages. Through their global reach, ambassadors will help unlock international markets, connect with key decision-makers, and bring insights on global trends back to the city.
Symbolism Rooted in Cape Town’s Heritage
During the ceremony, ambassadors received the official Invest Cape Town Ambassador pin – handcrafted from authentic Robben Island fence wire by Charmaine Taylor of the Legacy Collection. The pin symbolises resilience, progress, and the enduring spirit of Cape Town.
They also received the Ambassador Guide, outlining economic priorities, sector opportunities, and key City programmes to support their engagements.

Ambassadors will participate in quarterly briefings to share updates and stay informed on major developments shaping Cape Town’s economy. Their participation is voluntary and driven by a collective commitment to uplift the city and expand its global footprint.
