• Cape Town Time:

RESILIENCE

Cape Town is one of only a handful of African cities in the 100 Resilient Cities (100RC) network, an initiative pioneered by the Rockefeller Foundation.

The City of Cape Town’s Resilience Office has developed Cape Town’s first Resilience Strategy, which is set to help the city’s residents, businesses and government adapt, survive and thrive no matter the challenges it may face in the future.

The City created the Resilience Strategy following the worst drought Cape Town faced in recent history. The strategy offers a roadmap for a 21st-century metropolis which aims to strengthen the city against sudden potential shocks in future, from storms and heat waves to cyber-attacks, global financial crises and other unforeseen challenges.
