The City of Cape Town, in collaboration with the Western Cape Economic Development Partnership (WCEDP) and industry stakeholders, unveils the Food and Beverage Growth Coalition. This innovative platform fosters a collaborative environment where government and business leaders work together to address challenges and unlock economic opportunities in the food and beverage sector.
Led by the WCEDP’s Programme Lead, Brian Adams, the coalition aims to facilitate reforms and create conditions that drive job creation, skills development, and business growth. By fostering a reciprocal relationship of responsibility and accountability, the coalition seeks to foster sustainable economic development in Cape Town.
Alderman James Vos, Mayoral Committee Member for Economic Growth, emphasises the importance of structured stakeholder engagements in driving growth and addressing challenges. He underscores the need for collaborative partnerships across sectors—government, business, communities, and academia—to realise growth opportunities and streamline regulatory processes.
Aligned with the city’s commitment to eliminating barriers to doing business, the Food and Beverage Growth Coalition represents a proactive step towards fostering economic resilience and inclusivity in Cape Town’s high-value industries. Through collaborative efforts and strategic partnerships, the coalition aims to drive sustainable growth and prosperity for all stakeholders.
