The summit, organised by Manufacturing Indaba as part of its broader national manufacturing initiative, will bring together manufacturers, investors, policymakers, technology providers and industry leaders to discuss the future of South African manufacturing. Discussions will focus on industrial growth, innovation, automation, skills development, sustainability, exports and improving the competitiveness of local businesses.

Cape Town has a diverse manufacturing sector, producing everything from clothing and textiles, catamarans and processed food and beverages to automotive components, electronics, medical devices and green energy solutions, including renewable energy components and battery storage technologies.

‘Cape Town has a strong and diverse manufacturing base, and hosting this summit gives us an opportunity to put our local industry in the spotlight while connecting businesses with the people, expertise and opportunities that can help them grow. Manufacturing has an important role to play in expanding our economy and creating employment.

‘Our new Manufacturing Support Policy is about making sure our 33 industrial areas are working as well as they can for the businesses operating in them. That means understanding the challenges manufacturers face, improving the business environment and working with the private sector to unlock investment and expansion. Ultimately, we want our industrial areas firing on all cylinders, with businesses that can compete, grow and create more jobs,’ said Mayoral Committee Member for Economic Growth Alderman James Vos.

The summit will provide an opportunity for businesses to connect with national industry leaders, potential investors and technology providers, while exploring ways to strengthen manufacturing supply chains and expand market access.

Manufacturers, entrepreneurs, investors and other industry stakeholders are encouraged to attend.
